Tranquil Waterfront Home on Whidbey Island's Holmes Harbor

This is an exceptionally private, quiet, and peaceful place to relax and restore while still in close proximity to all that south Whidbey Island has to offer. Lovingly maintained with recently renovated bathrooms, this unique mid-century modern home features a primary bedroom with queen bed and in-suite full bath, a secondary bedroom with queen bed and large screen smart TV, a 3/4 bathroom off the kitchen, and a spacious loft with a queen bed and amazing views. The bedrooms have quality linens and light blocking curtains. Both bathrooms are fully stocked with fresh towels, toiletries, and other essentials to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The house has a spacious and complete kitchen (with great views!). It features a new induction stove, and is well stocked with quality cookware, sharp knives, dishware, spices, coffee maker, Nespresso Essenza Mini coffee machine, electric tea kettle, and more. The water is from a well and softened, but there is also a filtered water tap at the kitchen sink for your convenience.

* Well behaved dogs are welcome, but owners: - Must be responsible for their pet at all times indoors and outdoors. - Must clean up after their pet (bags are provided in multiple places at the house and by the beach). - Must keep pets off furniture or beds unless protected (pet blanket, etc.)(An additional cleaning fee may be assessed in pet hair is found on furniture or bedding). -Must not leave the pet(s) alone in the house or outside (Two dog crates are provided and always available for use by guests). * The property has stairs that lead to the dock, bulkhead, and water. The use of the stairs, the dock, and all water access are at the guest's own risk. * This is a very quiet, private neighborhood and we ask that guests reasonably respect these aspects even outside the stated quiet hours. Kids squealing with joy on the beach are very welcome, music blaring out of speakers is not. * No drones

Grill meals on the deck as you listen and watch for eagles, seals, and whales. Relax while enjoying a beverage around the fire table. The large, covered, glass-sided deck allows use in all weather conditions. Or, curl up with a good book and/or contemplate the view from Buttercup, our favorite bentwood swivel chair. In keeping with the minimalism of its era while embracing current technology, the home offers two smart televisions (one in the living room, one in the secondary bedroom), Please be sure to bring any streaming device for your ease of use (Roku Stick, Amazon TV Fire Stick, etc.). You may sign into any streaming channel of your choice by using your login credentials (e.g. Netflix, HBO GO, etc.) (Be sure to sign out of your account upon departure). There are also games, books, and puzzles for your enjoyment. The house has high speed fiber internet (100 Mbps up/100 Mbps down), WiFi, and cell phone reception. For electric vehicle owners - take advantage of our complementary level 2 charging station. Clamming, crabbing and fishing are seasonally available on Holmes Harbor. You can purchase a license and get more information at our local Ace Hardware store. We do not have watercraft available but we encourage you to bring your own or to rent from the local rental company. If of a manageable size and weight you can carry it down the stairs or launch from the boat ramp in Freeland Park. If the season is right you are welcome to pick apples, raspberries, rhubarb or herbs for your enjoyment. As conscientious stewards, we don't use pesticides or other chemicals. Extend your stay and work remotely for a few extra days supported by a dedicated work space and high speed (fiber) internet. All are welcome, including well behaved dogs. Located in the Olympic rain shadow, our winter days are warmer / dryer and summer days are cooler than Seattle. Whidbey Island experiences windstorms (typically in the winter months) that occasionally cause power outages. Depending on the severity of the storm, power is usually restored in less than 24 hours.
